Do NOT buy for Chromebooks! Don’t waste your time!

If you have a chromebook, don’t believe what they say with the “Made for Chromebook” label. First of all, keep in mind the Google does not officially support drawing tablets, so there are no settings or tweaks you can do with this like you can on Windows and Mac that fully support these drawing tablets. On a chromebook, the orientation is stuck in a left handed user mode, so you would have to have the usb cable plugged into the side so that it hits your keyboard because the tablet has to be held upside down for the up/down/left/right to work correctly on your screen. Secondly, since there is no Wacom software that can be installed on a chromebook, you cannot even adjust what the 2 buttons do. They are stuck on single click and right click, which means that you can not scroll at all on a chromebook by clicking the first button and dragging on the screen, because ChromeOS will recognize it only as a single click instead of a click and drag for scrolling. This is not a problem on Window and Mac, as both operating systems detect a drawing tablet and use the single click and drag function for scrolling. And finally, trying to draw or write with this thing on a chromebook is not accurate like on Windows or Mac, so that in the end, anything you attempt to draw will look like chicken scratch or a kindergartner’s art project. You can not use this even as a replacement mouse muchless attempting to draw anything what so ever.

Game Changer for my editing workflow

As a photographer you are always looking for that next piece of gear that will improve your craft. The Wacom One Tablet is the gadget that takes my game to the next level. Photo Editing specifically Dodge and Burn is amazing with the tablet and pen. Easily transition from layers, zoom in/out, and make adjustments with ease. The size is great for me because I re-map my tablet to use the top left corner only, which allows me to have my hand on the tablet and in a comfortable position.Driver download was fast and easy to set up custom pen settings.Draw backs is that I’m right handed and my desktop is set up on the left side of my desk. This means I have to place the tablet on the right side and run a usb cord across the top of my desk to plug in. The cord provided isn’t long enough to work so I would recommend anyone buying this with a similar set up buy a longer usb cord.Overall I’m happy with my purchase and even happier about the price.

    First sketch Tablet, Awesome!

I’ve been wanting to get into digital art for over a decade, so I decided to go with a low cost setup to begin my journey. I installed Krita (a free Photoshop equivalent) , plugged the little thing in, installed the driver’s… And boom! I’m a full blown artist now 😁😁.This this is fantastic! It has a great surface to doodle on, and the pressure sensitivity was easy to acclimate to. It didn’t take long for me to get used to the stylus. I have to rotate the buttons toward my palm when drawing so my big sausage fingers don’t press them by mistake – my only complaint.I am so excited to play with this sweet new tool!

I honestly really love it !!

I draw so much more because I love how comfortable it is, and the pressure sensitivity is so worth it, definitely getting your moneys worth !! And I love how you can store the pen on the end of the drawing pad when not using :,)

    Great for osu

as said in the title i use the tablet for gaming rather then drawing, the tablet works well if using it for gaming i would suggest either a tablet cover or more pen nibs as it does scratch pretty easily after continuous use

Decent for beginners but still a little pricy

Wacom is a trusted well known and trusted brand in the art industry. They make some pretty high end tablets and some low end ones to, this would be one of the low end ones. No software, no buttons except on the pen / stylist, which can be a plus side if you look at it, it gives you more work space… That being said it does have less pressure then the other models, but I doubt you’ll notice much of a difference if you are just starting out, but if you are a artist and or like to draw already, then i would save your money and get another tablet.. Wacom might be a great company but there are a few others behind them still holding strong and cheaper. If your looking for a tablet and money is not a concern, but u just want to start out, then this is great choice for beginners to entry level, even your basic photo editing nephew would love this for the holidays, lol.. (im sure they might shave 10 to 15$ off come the holidays for this? then it be worth it, and a great gift)*Edit* After 3 hours of testing it, it has stopped working on me and disconnected on me at least 4 to 6 times. Software or hardware? no idea, ive done a fresh install on software, and still had an issue, not happy. did a re install of the drivers /fresh, and fresh restart as well, 3rd time round seemed to happen less, no idea why, but still happening to me, maybe just a lemon tablet for me.(that being said there are some bad products out there if your really interested in this tablet do it, only if its on sale tho, 50+ is just to much, but its also a great gift idea for your friends/family members that loves art, or photo editing.)Plus side of things+ working surface is big for its size+ light weight+ Great tablet for Beginners+good tablet for photo editingCons- *edit* disconnecting issue (might be just mine /lemon)- Price $50+ is still to much for this- no bluetooth- cord is short- only 2048 levels of pressure-+ No buttons / shortcut keys

If you need to email a drawing, this is perfect

I work as an engineer, and all through my career I’ve sketched designs. Then the pandemic happened and everyone was home.Enter the Wacom tablet. This thing is amazing. I use it with Microsoft OneNote and I can sketch concepts for my customers, sketch concepts for my own study, or mark up peers’ sketches. Also my stick figure game is great now.If someone is right next to you then sketch on paper or on a whiteboard. If you need to share it or archive it in a database, sketch on the Wacom tablet.

    I’m very pleased

I have a bigger (and older) wacom which was more than 10 times of this price. I know this brand is very good so I bought this smaller one for my daughter. It’s a very good input device if you need to draw anything. I actually found it easier to use than my bigger one, and I can digitize the same in most cases. I just need to zoom in. It’s easy to carry so I brought it on my trip easily. I highly recommend this product. I like that you can map it to a specific area on your screen. I mapped one of my buttons to undo (ctrl+z) which is convenience.

    Perfect!

Everything about it is amazing! Yes, since it is the One by Wacom series and not the Intuos, it is basic. It is literally just a tablet and a pen. It comes with a USB cord that is 1 meter long. Could be short for some people but for me it is good enough. However, if you want a longer cord, you would have to buy a micro-b to USB 2.0 cable separately. As this is the type of USB that the tablet uses. The tablet functions perfectly along with the drivers. Had it for a month and have not encountered any issues whatsoever. Excellent for a beginner just starting out with digital art. If you are not an artist then that is fine as well as this tablet is great for taking notes or simply using it like another mouse. Pen pressure is superb and allows for dynamic handwriting or brush strokes. Have not encountered any lag as it has always been responsive and feels natural to use. Just like using traditional pencil and paper.Setting up the tablet to your pc is pretty much plug-n-play. Download the drivers for the tablet as this is the software you will need to customize on how you will use the tablet (e.g. assign a pen button to a hotkey such as ctrl+z (undo)). Not difficult to do at all and might take you 5 minutes or less to setup.

    Very basic

I purchased this large tablet and didn’t realize it was a step down from the Intuos tablet for photo editing. It works great for pressure sensitive skin touch ups because I don’t have to adjust my brush size that much. A light touch for small touch ups and heavier pressure for large areas. So far, I find the stylist a bit awkward to handle and the buttons do not feel natural for my hands to find. I usually have to tip the stylist to its side and look for the buttons which makes them rather useless when it is easier to use the keyboard when using Photoshop. The light weight of the stylist makes controlling it in my hand more difficult. I have to grip it rather than let my hand guide it like a nice quality pen. When blending layer masks, I sometimes just revert back to a mouse out of frustration, or it is just easier for me. Perhaps I need more time to practice using it. The USB cable on the left side makes the cable always in the way. Even if you switch it to the left side of your keyboard, the cable is going to have a hard bend on it. If it were on the top of the tablet then it would not be in the way. In my opinion the USB port is poorly designed. I’d also rather it was a USB-C port which is not as prone to wear and misalignment.I wish the feel was more like pen and paper rather than something very plastic. The experience for me is like scratching on a slick plastic surface. The pressure sensitive control is really helpful for touchup work like the healing brush. I don’t use it for drawing and don’t think I would like to use it for that purpose.

One by Wacom Improves Math Learning

As a student, I have found the One by Wacom Small Graphics Drawing Tablet to be an incredibly useful tool for my math class. The ability to write and draw on the tablet with the stylus has made it much easier for me to work through complex equations and graphs. No more erasing mistakes on a whiteboard or having to redraw something multiple times on a chalkboard. The tablet saves me time and frustration, and the results are always clear and precise. Moreover, the tablet has made remote learning much more enjoyable and efficient. I can now share my work with my teacher in real-time, and they can provide feedback and help me improve my understanding of the material. The tablet is also portable, so I can use it anywhere I have access to my computer.

    Very compact design

I was coming off using a Wacom Intuos medium size so this felt small to me. But the size aside, the pen is cheap and slippery. Its small size and plastic housing makes it tough to keep in control. I returned it and put up more money for the Intuos. The pen is larger and soft rubberized handle makes it better for anyone over 10 years old ! Literally…

Great tablet but you need some extras if you plan on playing osu!

The top of this tablet seriously feels like sandpaper, which might not be a bad thing for some people but for me it was a big change. The pen nibs melt away extremely fast if you are playing osu! on it so unless you want to buy a bunch of extras, you will need a tablet cover. The pen is also very small and thin compared to any previous tablet I have owned which is going to take some getting used to. That’s nothing an extra grip can’t solve, the real issue there is more money spent. The responsiveness is really incredible though. The high refresh rate coupled with a very low latency hardware smoothing free device is great. The low profile and small size definitely helps with comfort while gaming/drawing (although I’m no artist it comfort is the same all around).Needing a tablet cover or constantly having to constantly replace pen nibs is something I’m not a huge fan of. The fact the pen is very small and feels like cheap plastic doesn’t necessarily help the case either. Especially so when you have to spend extra money to use it often when playing or merely to be comfortable while using the tablet for drawing or writing. With all of that said, it’s still a 4/5 for me purely because of how good the tablet hardware is, making it the sole reason it’s worthwhile to spend the extra money for quality of life stuff + the fact it is useable without.

I replaced my mouse with this and it’s great for everything but scrolling and drawing

I use this as my primary input device (instead of a mouse), and it’s generally great. I got it because mice were triggering my RSI—the pen does not.However:1) Many interfaces make the draggable scrollbars tiny because they assume you have a scroll wheel or multitouch. The One’s pen has only two buttons, and I need those to be mapped for middle and right clicking, so I don’t have a scroll wheel equivalent, which makes those GUIs are hard to use.2) After each tap of the pen, there’s a small processing delay where the tablet doesn’t register movement or new taps. This makes handwriting at a normal speed impossible, as well as drawing techniques like hashing. I’ve tested this device on multiple Macs and it has that problem with all of them, so I’d guess it’s the device or Wacom’s driver.

Works mighty fine on Windows 10

Works great. I bought the small size, and 3 nibs were included. The USB cord is SHORT but fortunately I am left handed lol. I tried old art programs like Paint, Illustrator 2 (!) and Clip Studio 1 on a Windows 10 desktop PC. There’s a setting you can check to make it get along with older programs. I actually had more Windows problems with the Intuos in the past, than with this small model! The connection is fine, and the pen pressure works. I turned off ALL the buttons and it was easy to use. The setup on the website is annoying – no how-to videos work without all the cookies on. But the device self-registers once you download the driver. Takes a little practice getting used to cursor placement, and you may have to shuffle your setup around. I will try experimenting with a longer cord.. but overall, good deal.

Good first tablet, works on Linux and Windows

I got this as my first drawing tablet. It was surprisingly intuitive to use despite not having a built-in display. It works out of the box on Linux using GIMP in an X or Wayland desktop, and works on Windows 10 after installing the free driver software.

    Great note-taking tablet

I have used this tablet to take notes during college lectures for a year and would highly recommend it if you are looking for a way to take digital notes. I can download and annotate the lecture slides (instead of having to write everything down), I don’t have to scan assignments into pdfs, and I have a digital copy of my notes that are easy to access from multiple devices. It takes only a minute to get out and put back away and is relatively small and lightweight, so it is easy to store in a backpack. It takes a while to get used to and the tips do tend to wear out fast, otherwise, I have no complaints.

Tablet good. Tablet Orientation Change IS possible! (Plug position was corrected by this)

The tablet itself functions just fine. The problem for me was the plug position. The plug sticks out sideways from the left side of the tablet. I use a laptop. I’m right handed. I put the tablet on the right side of my laptop. The plug sticks out between tablet and laptop and won’t let me get the tablet close enough to the laptop. When I contacted Wacom, the agent claimed this entry level tablet does not allow orientation change. But that was wrong. It DOES allow it! If on a Mac, go to -> System Preferences -> Wacom Tablet -> Mapping -> (Choices: Landscape (default), Portrait, Landscape Flipped (my solution), Portrait Flipped). Now it is a perfect little tablet.

Simple tablet for someone who doesn’t need much

I got this tablet for working from home and it works fine, but it can be too simple for someone who needs more than the occasional drawing on Zoom. Interacting with the borders of the screen can be annoying since your hand could end up outside of the tablet, and it doesn’t seem to remember that I switched the orientation of the tablet because of the cable. It’s a basic model and it works well for my needs, specially given the price, just don’t expect more than that.

  25. Owen Li

    Works as expected

Compatible with Ubuntu right out of the box, even without the Wacom driver. Performs perfectly on Krita and Xournal++. Hardware wise, the tablet has almost perfect amount of friction, regardless of how fast or slow the tip moves across the tablet; the size is perfect for note-taking and casual arts. It has a thin profile and is very portable. In addition, the tablet has four thin rubber bits on its corners, which allows it to sit sturdy on almost all surfaces; and the fabric ring on side of the tablet allows the pen to fit tightly in, without falling out.Follow up: The pen seems a bit unreliable after a few weeks of usage: it draws when hovering over the tablet without even touching. I suspect that this may caused by myself not taking good enough care of the pen, or it could have been some unlucky defects, but nonetheless it may not be as reliable as I wish it is.

You Can’t Go Wrong with WACOM

I haven’t used a mouse on my own computers for over 30 years now, I have been using some sort of digitizer pen pad all these years. I’ve also been using touch screen and pen operated PC tablets on a regular basis since 1998. Yes, they have existed that long. Pen tablets have a lot on common with digitizer pads, and with thirty years experience, I would never spend my money on any digitizer pad or pen operated device that was not made by Wacom. Wacom is the absolute master of this technology, nobody else provides the precision and dependability of Wacom products. I don’t work for them, I have never received any compensation for this opinion – it’s simply that I have been able to depend on their products when several others have failed to live up to the same standard. Anyway – I’ve got one of the big Intuos pads on my main machine. I bought the Wacom One for one of my secondary machines and it works great. Even the lower price Wacom products are very precise and provide good pressure sensitivity and functionality. You cannot go wrong with Wacom. You can use these products for many years unlike some other brands. I’m happy to pay a little bit more for something that works twice as well and last twice as long – I call that a “bargain.”

Goods for beginners not wanting to drop the money of the higher models.

I got this as a gift for my girlfriend who is getting into photography and wanted to use it as a trial before going to the higher end models but keeping a known name brand. This fit the bill. The only thing to warn if you have not used on of these before it takes a little getting used to looking at the monitor while drawing on the pad. The upper end of the brand models can have a screen on the pad itself so you are putting pen to the photo right where you want it. Doing it separate off course works, again just takes some practice. Even if opting for these entry levels I would recommend getting the larger of the versions as with high detailed images you do run out of tablet space and need to scroll.

Write on PDFs ! Write on Microsoft Office Documents !

I bought this for one purpose – to write on pdfs. Frankly, there was very little information out there telling me whether it would work or not. So this was a bit of a test. I bought this unit, the student’s tablet, because it was reportedly easy to use. And it is. You might have to change a couple settings for orientation, one monitor versus two, etc. But no big deal. The best news is that this is perfect for writing on pdfs and Microsoft Office documents. It is exactly what I needed. You you open pdfs in Microsoft Edge and then just write on them. Or better yet, Drawboard Pdf. That app lets you highlight, underline, write on , etc., all with the Wacom student table. And you can write on slides in Power Point while you are giving a presentation. I recently was on Zoom call, shared my screen which had a pdf up, and wrote all over it to the ooohhhs and ahhhhs of the other folks on the call. Anyway, I am now taking notes on pdfs and not printing much anymore.

Great for online teaching or tutoring

I run a small tutoring business and we went remote during the pandemic. People still prefer remote classes since we charge an extra free if the class is in person. All my tutors use it and love it. A very good alternative to expensive Ipads.

Great Tablet For Osu! Just Get a Grip for the Pen

This review is for Osu! players, I bought this tablet seeing all the good press it has received. I originally got to 4 digit using my old tablet, the Star g640s. It is incredibly easy for me to say that I’m impressed with this Wacom tablet. Almost instantly I was able to use the Hawku drivers for Osu! with this tablet. I’m a drag player, and this tablet is perfect, and it’s latency is quick (I measured 1ms at max, and around .4ms avg) This tablet made me improve almost immediately and now I feel competent to go for 3 digit. My complaints with this tablet are more of my personal nitpicks: The pen is extremely light and a bit on the smaller side. It still feels great to use after some practice though. I’m sad that the pen has no grip either. My other complaint is that the tablet surface feels fine, however it scratches easily after extended use, but this is obvious as an Osu! player. Just buy some screen protectors / covers and this problem is solved. Also, the pen nibs wear down fast if you drag, yet another problem that can be fixed if you just put your mousepad on top of the tablet and drag on the mouse pad.I had an issue with osu detecting the tablet initially, the cursor would stay stuck on the top left of the screen with raw input on. I fixed this issue by going into the Wacom Control Center and changing the pen to mouse-only mode.Overall, this is a great tablet and directly competes if not beats the CTL-480. If you are looking to get into osu, this is the endgame tablet in my opinion. Great price, and great quality!

    Simple and Reliable

Great basic tablet from Wacom, if you do not need all the bells and whistles. I have used Wacom products for well over 15 years in the design industry. I have gone through about 3 tablets on the higher end models over that period, but didn’t really want to spend hundreds on replacing my last tablet. I tried another brand out there and it just wasn’t the same. If you don’t need the extra buttons and the wheel, this model is the best option for something simple for drawing and navigating around your screen like a mouse. I highly recommend it if you are starting out with a tablet or just need something simple and reliable from Wacom.

NIBS (for osu players at least)

This tablet is by far the most responsive and speediest tablet for osu!game. But if you are a full area player like me, you are definitely going to need lots of nibs or a tablet cover. The default tablet surface eats the nib like a peanut butter jelly sandwich after a really long and drawn-out field trip.

    very good for the price

It is a very good tablet for the price being a very good starter tablet for begging artist that wish to branch of to the digital space. I would still recommend something a bit more expensive because it is very much for beginners and you will most likely replace it very soon.

    It’s good but….

Good quality product from Wacom. It works. It’s solid and it looks great. It’s easy to grab on the go and you can get a 10ft cord for its connector. The bad, you get what you pay for so just keep that in mind. It’s build tough for school age kids. Which can be good or bad. Depending on you. In my experience this makes it harder for a new user to use…it’s not as touch friendly as a standard Wacom tablet. But for the price it’s worth it as again, you can take this anywhere and not worry so much about it getting damaged.

    Great for Osu!

Recommended by many, this tablet is amazing for osu!. The pen has some grip and can be held comfortably. The tablet has some extra friction which can help you aim with less shaking. Because of the lack of hardware smoothing, you may need to download tablet drivers and add an antichatter plugin (inside the drivers). This doesn’t mean that it’s bad, on the contrary, this is actually a good thing! Less hardware smoothing means you have more control over your aim and you won’t have to worry about the software messing up your aim. Overall, I recommend this tablet 10/10.

    amazing tablet for osu!

i play osu, and this tablet is great for it :)i can’t personally tell you how it is for drawing, but a buddy of mine has it and he says it’s decent. but if you play osu and you want a budget tablet i’d pull the trigger on this one! this take may be controversial, but it’s almost on par with the cth-480!

    Works with SOME Chromebooks

Thanks to reviewer David L. Cheung for calling out that despite Wacom’s site (and several noteable review sites) touting the One’s compatibility with Chromebooks…it only actually works with some.Per his review…..”…….The one requires chromebooks with Linux kernel version 4.4 or higher (and ChromeOS 87 or higher) to be installed on the Chromebook. There isn’t any easy way to upgrade the Linux kernel on these little machines. If you’re wondering if your Chromebook will work with this tablet, you can check your kernel version by opening up a terminal tab (Ctrl+Alt+T) and typing “uname -srp” on the command line without the quotes.”I have 3 different chromebooks in my house (Asus, Dell, Samsung). After reading his review I checked the Linux kernel version and OS versions on all 3 machines. Oddly enough only my oldest machine had recent enough Linux kernel and OS versions (it was the Samsung, its about 4 years old, also the most expensive. Model XE513C24). I tested the one on all 3, and sure enough it only worked on the Samsung.I only tested it with a website my kids use for school (will be it’s sole use), and did some simple drawings and handwriting with it. I cant say it gave me exponentially better results than doing so with just a mouse, but it was certainly easier once you get the hang of it. (disclaimer, I’m no artist and my handwriting isn’t great!). Had my 9 yr old son test it and it worked fine for him. Should meet my needs.

Overall great, but for osu, needs a tablet cover to prevent nibs wearing out

This tablet is overall great; good build quality, lightweight, and self-intuitive, but my main gripe with this tablet is that the pen nib wears completely flat for me within an hour or two of playing osu, and not only that, but it does not feel anything like any of the other tablets I’ve used surface-wise.The surface is much more grippy, and almost feels like you’re writing on paper, which is great for people using this tablet for drawing or graphic design, but for me it made me feel like I had less overall control for minor adjustments of my cursor during fast movements. It made my aim instantly much more snappy, which sounds good, but if I’m a half centimeter off of where I want to be, I can’t make the minor adjustment mid-aim like I could with my old tablet because the pen doesn’t glide across the surface as well. It almost made me feel like my pen was jumping across the the surface sometimes, similar to how chalk can jump on a chalkboard when drawing a line. This issue make me feel like I need to purchase a tablet cover of some sort to help prevent this, because even other brands of tablet pens nibs wear out extremely fast on this surface, which is another cost on top of this price.

Better and more portable than those high end “pro” display models

This is my fourth tablet and I am already loving it. My first tablet was the Wacom Intuos 3 which I loved. I had this for years and I kept going back to it. Sadly after years of use, all the duct tape couldn’t keep it going when the electrical work started giving out on the USB cable.I know Wacom stuff works great on linux, and this model does not disappoint. I just plugged it into my Ubuntu 20.04 and it just started working perfect with my application of choice Krita. No drivers or extra drivers needed. If someone is reading this and they ever decide to “upgrade” to one of those fancy pen displays later, don’t throw or give this one away. You know the tablets I am talking about. The ones where you can draw right on the screen. I had one for a short while and it didn’t work out, so I went back to graphics tablets like this. For me, there are a few reasons that you might not like these “pro” level tablet displays that cost more money:1. The screen gets warm and your hands start sweating on it. And when your hands sweat, your pen nib stops registering on the screen as it slips around on your sweat. It is annoying having to wipe down your screen every hour or two because it is full of sweat. It is kind of gross too.2. Bad posture. You have to look down and hunch over to use it to see the screen below. That might be ok for a bit, but having a crooked neck and back for hours on end really gets old and painful. There is a bit of a remedy for this with adjustable monitor stands so you can reposition it, but I didn’t want to bother with more accessories.3. Extremely unportable. Display monitors are large and have a lot of cables. With something like this graphics tablet, it is easy to throw in your backback and take it to a game jam, or do some drawing at a coffee shop.4. Your arm is in front of your artwork. If you are right handed, that means your right hand and forearm are going to be blocking half of your artwork all the time. While this might not seem like that big of a deal, it is a bit nicer to see the right side of your art as well as the left side.A lot of people like them, though, so treat this as just one person’s opinion.

    Good for a starter tablet.

I mainly used this for osu! but I also tested some drawing applications aswell. Works well for both uses and is very easily customizable with both buttons and the tip itself being able to be mapped to a different input. Overall good for the price just wish the material was a bit sturdier.

Love the price, love the design

For someone looking to start learning graphic design, this product was just enough, which is why I’m so delighted by it. I still use it years later and there’s no sense of FOMO on the fancier tablets on the market, though they deserve appreciation as well. But this product is really well designed and built and priced. Would highly recommend to others.

Poor set-up instructions. Chromebook support limited.

Very disappointing; somewhat less so from the standpoint of functionality of the tablet, and more from the questionable support and business practices of the company.Cons:1. As occurs with many websites Wacom presents you with a variety of choices on what cookies to accept. However, this appearance of choice is fiction as in order to access all functions of the site, including the set-up and training videos one must accept all cookies. Choice indeed. You really have to worry about a company so insure about the performance of its product that they feel it necessary to engage in such practices to secure you as a continuing target for its advertising. I’m from the school that still believes that good service and reliable performance are the best way to secure continued sales.
2. Poor set-up instructions with no real explanation of the choices presented for setting up the pen.
3. Product registration is less than intuitive. Even after you provide all of your personal information and areas of interest you continuously loop back to instructions on the need for registration (even though you are already logged in) until you finally figure out that it is necessary to scroll down through further advertising to finalize your registration.
4. Part of the come-on for registration is the dangling of “free software”. As with other aspects of the front end experience this too smacks of deception, as the five software packages turn out not be be “free” but rather are provided as on a short-term, limited trial basis. Free indeed.
5. Although most of my trialing of this tablet was on my M1 Mac Air, the company also lists compatibility with Chromebooks of more recent vintage. Overall only around 12 different specific models were mentioned. Although mine was not one of those, for brief periods the tablet would function with my late model Lenovo, but then it would then unexpectedly crash my system. By the way, my Chromebook is supported by Google well into 2027, so I consider it a fairly late model. If your’s is not one of those limited number of models listed, don’t be disappointed if your Chromebook fails to function properly. Further, as there is no accompanying software to support pen settings, it seems unlikely that you would have the some functionality as might be enjoyed by those running their tablet under macOS or Windows. No mention that I could find of linux support either.Pros:1. I would suppose that this product might work for teachers/instructors looking for a simple annotation tool for slides and digitally exchanged homework and projects. Personally I didn’t like the very lightweight feel of the pen and the need to take up a USB port to support the tablet function, but for others this may not be a bother. This tablet stands at the bottom of the Wacom line so don’t expect all that much beyond the basics. I was, however, so turned off by my experience with Wacom’s approach to the user experience I won’t be sampling other products in their extensive line-up.

Be sure to download the correct driver—Wacom makes two very similarly-named products!

This is definitely a beginner’s tablet. The resolution and controls are adequate for my needs, but a more advanced artist would definitely find it lacking. Pressure-sensitivity is decent. The stylus feels a little cheap, especially the button feel, but not so much that it feels like it’s going to fall apart on me. The tab on the side that holds the stylus when not in use fits the included stylus only if you stick it in from the top end of the stylus; if you try to stick it in point-first, the buttons will get in the way.It connects fine to USB-C via a standard A-to-C adapter. It does not connect consistently through a corded hub; I have a dock-style hub on order for my MacBook Pro, and when that arrives I’ll test how well it connects through that. You can switch functionality between absolute and relative positioning (like drawing directly to a screen vs. using a trackpad), but you can’t change the orientation in either mode. This is a minor frustration because it works only with the cord entering the tablet from the left side, but the way my system is physically arranged it would work better for me with the cord entering on the right side. When you go to Wacom’s site to download the driver, be very careful that you pick the correct model. THIS IS IMPORTANT. Wacom has two completely different tablets that are both called “One”: the Wacom One and the One by Wacom. THIS TABLET IS THE “ONE BY WACOM”, not the Wacom One, and will not work with the Wacom One’s driver. Wacom’s site will not tell you directly that there are two different “One” tablets—this one is an entry-level model, and the Wacom One is a super-high end model, so unless you view all models at once, you’re not likely to see both on screen at the same time.Aside from the driver confusion, this is a pretty good beginner tablet. I’m quite happy with it for the price I paid for it. If you’re looking to try out tablet drawing, this is overall a good choice for a decent inexpensive test run. More advanced artists should probably look a bit higher on the chain.

First Drawing Tablet, Great for Beginners

This is my first drawing tablet, so I don’t have anything else to compare it to but on its own, it’s extremely good. I can’t speak for the Medium size but the Small size is not heavy, it’s just the right amount of weight to be comfortable, its extremely easy to use and comes with simple instructions, the pen has 2 buttons that you can easily change to your liking. There are many settings you can change to how you want and it’s very easy to do so, the material is nice and feels high quality, everything is still working for me over a month later. I’ve seen others talking about the tablet randomly disconnecting but I have yet to ever have these problems, I’m assuming they must have not set it up properly. The Tablet will eventually get scratches but they are purely a cosmetic change, from my experience they don’t affect functionality at all.The Medium size is a bit too expensive for a beginner to invest in IMO but the Small size is extremely high quality for its size, and not too bad of an investment if you want to try getting into digital art. The Tablet also works good for Osu! once you mess with the settings a bit. The lack of hotkeys is what majorly holds this tablet down but considering its quality and low price, it’s fine. As a Beginner myself, the lack of hotkeys never bothered me.

Almost 5 stars, but this really bugs me.

The amount of times ive placed the pen on the tablet, forgetting about it and leaving it has driven me crazy. It snaps my mouse to one spot on the screen so I’m in a frantic fight to figure out whats wrong.

    Incredible First Graphic Tablet!

I bought this to use with GIMP and Blender on my Linux machine and had an awesome experience with it. Wacom doesn’t advertise as being penguin-friendly but the Linux kernel has the drivers for it. For both me and a friend of mine, this brand is truly plug and play (Mint and PopOS).For actual use: You don’t need the glove, it won’t register input from your skin, you can put your hand right on it but the glove does make it feel smoother dragging your hand around which is nice. If you hover the tip over the pad it moves the cursor, touch down to click, button one is middle mouse, button two is right click. Perfect for controlling the viewport. Also a super useful feature is being able to set the tablet’s rotation/orientation and the ability to switch between relative and absolute cursor position. So in other words the tablet can represent the whole screen or it can work like a laptop trackpad in how it moves the cursor around. If you’re worried about not having shortcut buttons then remember you still have a keyboard for that so that makes this, in my opinion, the best value for a graphics tablet since it’s the cheapest medium sized one I could find [for brands I know are Linux compatible].

    Great alternative to Ipad pencil

I grew tired of using my windows laptop and my Ipad. All my school notes were on my ipad but now everything is in my laptop. For windows I really like the Drawboard app to annotate PDFs. I barely use my Ipad anymore. I ran out of space on it so it was a hassle to keep moving my old documents back and forth and then the cloud would fill up. Now I just take all of my notes with my laptop and pen tablet. I can have multiple displays and write all together. I do miss the feeling of Ipad pencil to screen but if you need a cheaper alternative I don’t think it’s much of a loss. The transition has been pretty smooth. I recommend using the Ipad with the OneNote app and adding to your notes back and forth but for the most part I use Adobe and Drawboard for PDFs and OneNote for practice problems.

    Software matters

The Wacom seems to work pretty well. But how well depends on what program you are running it under. There was a noticeable lag between where you moved the pen and where the cursor was on the screen when using Gimp. I did not experience this issue when using Krita.

Great product. Works well. There are some flaws with Mac versions but their customer support line was very helpful and easily talked me through the full activation of the product. I was worried it would be too small. It isn’t. You get used to using it quickly. It only took me a couple hours before I got the hang of it and after several days, no problems. I started by just writing with the tablet and I am expanding out to their advanced features. For the price it is a win! I have bought multiple tablets and tools for taking notes in class and specifically, doing Math homework. This works better then a 500 dollar tablet I purchased.

Recently got into digital art and this tablet is an excellent beginner tablet. It has worked with every program I’ve used (Rebelle5, Krita, Black Ink, GIMP, Inkscape). It makes life so much easier and more fluid compared to using a mouse. Now that I’ve used this tablet for several months, I plan to upgrade to one with more functionality like shortcut buttons, larger work area, and touchscreen.
